We’ve all got one of those drawers stuffed full of accessories that we never wear. And then a few favourites that we reach for every time. Figuring out how to bridge the gap between those two extremes was the inspiration for this collection. It’s not about how much things cost. Although price can be a factor, we’re more interested in whether things actually work or not. And by work, we mean they work in real life with real outfits on ordinary days when you still need to get dressed and leave the house. The products that miss that criterion aren’t ugly or boring. Many of them would look lovely on a product page. But as soon as you wear them, they start to lose their charm, whether that be because they’re annoying to wear, don’t fit right, don’t suit what you actually own or are just never quite right for whatever reason. Every belt, bag, scarf and piece of jewellery in this edit has passed those tests. Each one has been chosen because it earns its keep rather than just taking up space in your bag or your wardrobe. We don’t stock a lot of accessories here. But the ones we pick have all been tested extensively by us. Some are game changers. The kinds of things you put on and immediately wonder how you ever left the house without them. Like a simple gold ring that sits on your finger just so, catching the light and making your whole hand look put together. Or a leather belt to take a plain dress fromthrown to thoughtfully casual. Or a bag that fits all your shit without looking like a suitcase. Others are subtly brilliant. They might not stop you mid sentence to admire them but without them, your outfits will feel inexplicably less stylish. Like a classic trenchcoat scarf in a colour that actually matches your coats. Or a well cut blazer that nails the trend without relying on it. Or a bulky knit that you can throw over absolutely everything. We’ve paid attention to price too. Real life accessory spending comes in many shapes and sizes and having good taste doesn’t suddenly start at a certain price point. Some things in this edit are total bargains and will look way more expensive than they are. Others are investments that will stand the test of time because they aren’t jumping on any trends. Regardless of how much they cost, we wouldn’t just show you these products. We would actually wear them. Not for an event we’ve styled or a photograph we’re taking. We would wear them on a Tuesday with whatever else we happened to grab out of the wardrobe that morning. It’s the standard we hold all of our products to and trust us, it’s actually quite tough. Some beautifully curated things don’t make the cut. These ones do though. So if you’re like us and consider getting dressed each day more irritating than enjoyable, treat yourself to one of these. It’s the kind of treat that will stop you having to pretend to love getting ready when someone asks why you always look so good. Instead you will just look forwards to finding that perfect something to round your outfits off.
