Vintage flapper style gold mesh pouch compact handbag by Whiting & Davis Co., with original manufacturer’s box. This hard to find Whiting & Davis Co vintage piece features a gold metal mesh body & gold metal & guilloche compact top. This pouch purse measures 6 long from top to bottom & measures 5 wide across the widest part. The top round compact measures 2 1/2 tall by 2 1/2 wide in a hard gold metal back hinge lid, with a push up lip enclosure. The white guilloche porcelain inset has a pink & green rose flower detail. The inside of the lid houses the metal interior compact, with a pop up hinged top & original round powder pad. Original powder is still in the compact. The inside compact is working properly & the lid stays securely closed. The inside of the pouch is lined in a pale peachy pink satin like fabric. The inside is large enough for lipstick, mascara, cover stick, etc. The interior round opening measures 2 across by 2 tall. There is no handle or chain. The vintage pouch compact is in very good condition & comes with the original manufacturer’s / department store box. The Whiting & Davis mesh pouch bag was purchased at Reid Sheldon on Genesee St., in Utica, NY. The box shows age as seen in pics. Comes carefully wrapped & boxed for safe & secure delivery.
